Fun Fact: Pineapples are a symbol of hospitality in Charleston, SC. It's a tradition that goes back to colonial days when returning sea captains would spear a pineapple outside their homes. This was to let the captains' friends know they had returned safely, and that they could come over to hear stories from the high seas.
