The Grand Prismatic Spring
⬥⬥⬥
Yellowstone National Park’s Grand Prismatic Spring is the largest hot spring in America. The first records of the spring are from 1839, when a group of European explorers and surveyors made note of a “boiling lake”.
Geologists named it for its distinct coloring when they noticed its similarity to the colors in an optical prism rainbow: red, orange, yellow, green, and blue. These colors inspired our mug!
